The 10th tournament.
This movie script is, very simply, based on "Mortal Kombat" (1) from 1992.
Three new prequel movie scripts, and then a movie script that simply adapts the first MK game.
I start with the boat ride. This boat ride to the island was seen in the MK Movie, the MK Animated Video, and it's implied to have happened somewhere in the game. Though it was never actually seen or shown in-game, the 1992 Trading Kards depict the boat ride. Those same cards had a Johnny Cage outfit, a blue suit and tie with a pink shirt, that would later be used in 2011's Mortal Kombat. Basically, that could all be considered canon. Except back in the day Liu Kang answered to Master Wu and thus not yet Bo Rai Cho but retcons are here for that reason.
Both the 2011 MK and MK: the Legacy SKIPPED the boat ride, incidentally, as 2011's MK has Raiden receiving a message from his future self after having arrived at the island, and MK: Legacy has everyone teleported to the island. Well. Huh. That was pretty cool. Pretty clever way to sum up a boat ride in mere seconds. But this boat ride became one solid difference between my version and theirs.
The characters all come from MK1.
Raiden. Liu Kang. Johnny Cage. Sonya. Sub-Zero. Scorpion. Kano. Reptile. Goro. Shang Tsung. The Elder Gods.
Not present: anybody from MK2 or MK3.
From UMK3: Ermac and Rain.
From MK: Deadly Alliance: Kenshi.
New characters: Belokk and Shadia. Belokk was a deleted character from MK Gold on the Sega Dreamcast, similar in name only to my version, now a red genie and servant of a woman, Shadia, who is entirely new.
From the 90's MK comics: Sing and Sang, Hydro, Grum.
Oh yeah, "Wilson" and "Molloy" are both brand-new. Just some of these extras who don't fight, like some of the people seen in MK: Legacy.
The MK novel had Kano working with two accomplices, Moriarty and Michael Schneider, and I think those names are cool. Michael Schneider should be the MK1 prequel to Kabal. An accomplice of Kano. As for Moriarty, he is also an accomplice, but maybe he could turn out to be down with the Red Dragons instead.
It mostly sticks to Mortal Kombat 1, yet with Ermac and Rain interjected from Ultimate MK3, and also Kenshi from MK: Deadly Alliance. Though I use characters from the comics, I still am really sticking with Mortal Kombat 1. The Pit. The Warrior Shrine. The Mirror Match. The bottom of the Pit. Lots of stuff that really just goes back to the simplicity of MK1.
Isn't reading great?
MORTAL KOMBAT BEGINS.
INT. EAST CHINA SEA - DAYTIME
We’re in the middle of the water.
PULL UPWARD, while looking down,
until we pass through the surface of
the ocean and rise up above it.
Looking up, water surrounds us on all sides,
for miles on end. We FLY STRAIGHT AHEAD
over the water, toward the Pacific Ocean.
Eventually, we see a small bit of land.
As we get closer to this island, we see
its true size from up close.
“Over 200 Miles East of China”
The waters are being rocked strongly
by the winds. At the edge of the water,
a beach marks the shores of land.
EXT. BOAT 1 - SOON
In the water, a boat that has recently departed
from Hong Kong travels on toward Shimurai
Island, traveling East. This brown wooden
boat rocks back and forth intensely in the
wind, and due to the wind-powered movement
of the waters below.
INT. BOAT 1 - SOON
A Shaolin monk, wearing an orange
robe that leaves one shoulder revealed,
spins the wooden wheel to steer the ship.
This monk remains silent as he does his
work, and does not engage at all with
anyone else on the boat.
We slowly PAN ACROSS the boat, from
the monk driver, to the other 8 occupants.
Raiden, God of Thunder, wearing all white,
stands still. Purple lightning/electricity leaps
around across his avatar body.
Three mortals stand side-by-side near Raiden.
Liu Kang is shirtless, wearing black pants.
Johnny Cage is wearing a white tuxedo suit.
Sonya Blade is wearing all green.
Chinese assassin Sub-Zero, wearing a black
and blue outfit of the Lin Kuei clan, stands
beside Twin Fighting Monks Sing and Sang,
and blind swordsman Kenshi.
Liu Kang. Johnny Cage. Sonya Blade.
Sub-Zero. Sing and Sang. Kenshi.
Tomorrow, by noon, you will all be at
the island. The most important tournament
held in the entire history of your Earth
realm is soon going to commence:
From an aerial angle 10 feet above the boat,
we DRIFT AWAY, and look at the second
boat that makes its way across the ocean.
INT. SECOND BOAT - MAIN HULL
Shang Tsung walks around his boat,
talking to his 7 selected warriors.
You 7 are the most important fighters.
Remember that, out of 9 realms challenged
to Mortal Kombat thus far, Outworld won
all 9. Remember that, so far, Outworld is
in the lead with Earth. All we need is one more
victory. One! And Earth becomes Outworld.
Shang Tsung begins to walk around the boat,
talking to the Outworld fighters.
Kano. Scorpion. Reptile.
You three come from different areas,
and you are all considered lethal in them.
Ermac. Rain. You have long since
served Outworld. Grum. With your
six arms, a rarity even in your realm,
the Earth warriors don’t stand a chance.
Belokk. Shadia. You, also, fight for
the flag of Outworld.
Finally, Goro. The reigning champion
of the tournaments. You have not lost yet.
Remember that this one tournament holds
everything in the balance. We will establish
Earth . . . in the name of Outworld!
TITLE SHOT: MORTAL KOMBAT BEGINS.
We stay focused on this title shot for
a few seconds. We can still hear the
sounds of the ocean, the water blowing
around over itself in the wind. The
blackness FADES AWAY.
INT. BOAT 1 - MAIN HULL
The seven mortals continue
to sit or stand on the boat.
Johnny Cage is stretching.
Sonya is looking out over the waters.
So is Liu Kang.
Sing and Sang are sparring, on their own.
Kenshi sits with his legs folded, meditating.
Sub-Zero looks out over the waters,
on the opposite side as Sonya and Liu.
Johnny Cage slides up next to Sonya.
Anyone think that guy in the white was kind
of . . . over-dramatizing it a bit? Being a little
bit Shakespearean about the whole thing?
“This is the most important tournament in the history
of Earth.” I mean - if this tournament is so important,
then how come I’ve never heard of it, until now?
Liu Kang gives Johnny Cage
a resentful look.
Maybe you haven’t.
Actually, I agree. I’ve been in the
Special Forces agency for years, and
I’ve never heard anything of a
Mortal Kombat tournament.
So, I’d like a little more info, too. What
exactly is the significance of this tournament?
This tournament has been held once every
20 years, for the past 2,000 years. Earth is
the 10th realm challenged to Mortal Kombat.
It’s that old?
Yes. By comparison, your entire agency -
the Special Forces - is only a baby.
Sonya is silent for a second.
Still. Never mind how old it is. Just
what makes this tournament so important?
This tournament is what decides whether or
not Shao Kahn, the Emperor of Outworld,
claims all of Earth in his own name.
What do you mean?
For nearly 2,000 years, Shao Kahn traveled
from realm to realm, conquering worlds
through the Mortal Kombat tournaments.
He has conquered the entire realm of Outworld,
and 9 other realms. Now he seeks to make
Earth the 10th world to be fused with Outworld.
He seeks to make Earth his 10th world?
How exactly would this guy own 10 different
planets? He can’t be everywhere at once.
Shao Kahn has merged all 9 of his
conquered realms into his Outworld.
They have all become fused together.
The same fate he wishes upon Earth realm.
Okay, there you again! “Realm!” Earth realm.
I guess . . . Earth is a realm . . . I guess a realm
is a planet, then. A planet in space.
Bingo! Absolutely. You have
won a million dollars.
So, wait a second. It’s up to us people, here
. . . to stop Shao Kahn.
Yes. You are the fighters for Earth. You
must win against the fighters for Outworld.
And what happens if we lose?
Shao Kahn destroys the whole world?
If we lose, what happened to the last 9
realms will happen to our Earth.
I never really thought before about how LONG
this boat ride would actually be. Y’know?
Johnny Cage starts whistling, somewhat loudly.
After a few seconds, where Cage continues
whistling, and nobody else talks, Cage starts
drumming his hands on the edge of the boat.
Come on! Let’s not be so dead.
We’re going to a tournament!
You don’t know what you’re talking about.
And who might YOU be, Miss Blondie?
The name’s Sonya Blade. Lieutenant
Sonya Blade, United States Special Forces.
Oh! Nice. A lieutenant. Wow. Not
what I thought you were gonna say.
So, you guys go to lots of tournaments?
Or is this your first one?
Let me get something straight. We might all
co-exist on this boat, together, but that doesn’t
mean we’re friends. I’m only here for one thing.
Yeah? . . . And what’s that?
You don’t know the name? Figures.
Only the top Most Wanted Man in
What, a model? A bodybuilder?
A wanted criminal, idiot.
A wanted criminal. And you’re here for . . .?
I’m here to track him down. He’s somewhere
on this boat - and I’m not stopping until I find him.
Uhhh . . . lady . . . I mean . . . I’m sorry
to say this, but there’s not that many
people here on this boat, and I don’t
see a Kano anywhere here.
Johnny Cage looks around himself.
KANO! KANO! Which of you is Kano?
Cage points at the driver of the wooden wheel.
YOU! Are YOU Kano?? Don’t lie to me!
All right, asshole. I can see you don’t
take anything seriously. So do me a
favor, walk yourself away before you
actually start to -
Wait, wait! . . . Wait. I do take it seriously.
I do. I’m not saying . . . I mean, I’m not saying
don’t try. I’m just saying - I don’t see Kano on
this boat. I . . . would love to help you track him
down myself. Tell you what. Maybe just give me
your phone number . . . I’ll be on the lookout.
I mean, I will NOT stop looking until Kano is FOUND -
What’s your name, again?
Yeah. Johnny Cage - why don’t you do me
a favor and just shut up? Let me handle it.
I’ve got years of experience in the military -
Army, for starters. Special Forces, now.
More recently, Lieutenant. And what,
again, what was your job title? What do
you do with your life?
A-ha ha. Now I know you’re joking. I’m
Johnny Cage - famous actor. Stuntman.
I know - I look different in person.
Actor? Huh. I’ve never heard of you.
You’ve never seen ANY movies
with Johnny Cage in them?
I don’t watch movies.
. . . Really.
Listen, pal. One thing you don’t know is,
there is an official FBI investigation up and
running, as to Kano’s whereabouts.
He’s the Most Wanted Criminal on the
FBI’s list - so, yes, of course there is.
Special Forces was brought in to deal with
Kano due to our nature, of individuals
with highly specialized skills.
From Johnny Cage’s viewpoint,
we see Sonya’s big boobs.
FBI runs the investigation. CIA finds his
location. Special Forces has sent me, Sonya,
to the site of this so-called tournament to
locate Kano. I was positive he would be
on this boat. Now I find that . . . he’s not.
It's possible the whole thing's a diversion.
That’s the thing. There are TWO boats.
We’re on Boat A. Maybe he’s on Boat B.
What? . . . You didn’t tell me this before?
Well, I’m telling you now.
. . . Thanks for the info. Let me speak to the captain.
Sonya approaches Raiden, dressed in white rags.
Excuse me. Are you the captain of this ship?
Yes. What do you need?
Under the authority of the United States
Special Forces, I need to find criminal
Kano, leader of the Black Dragon gang.
Is he on board this ship?
No, although I can assure you he
is on the other one of two ships
now heading to the island.
Well, I need to find him, RIGHT NOW.
Right now is impossible. The boat ride
must not be interrupted.
Then, order the captain of the OTHER boat
to freeze - before I have it surrounded by
The captain of the other ship is Shang Tsung.
He, too, cannot stop the boat until it has reached
Yes, then. Get ready for police vehicles.
Sonya talks into her radio.
Black Hawk, this is Lieutenant Blade, over.
Authorize Dispatch to send assistance.
The captain of the ship, who harbors
Kano’s location, refuses to cooperate.
Raiden. What happens if the boat
randomly hits a rock, and crashes?
What would happen to the tournament?
Do not worry, Liu Kang. As the protector
of Earth, I will also protect those who
participate in this great tournament.
I will not let you all perish before
the tournament begins.
(talking into her radio) This is
Black Hawk to Cardinal. Do you
Loud and clear, Lieutenant.
I’ll turn on my cell phone location now. Over.
Sonya, quick and savvy with technology,
quickly gets out a cell phone, and gets it
ready to display its position electronically.
You should be seeing my position . . .
any . . . second now. Over.
Nothing yet. Over.
Black Hawk, are you sure . . .
wait . . . got it. Black Hawk,
we confirm sighting of your
INT. OCEAN - EXT. COAST GUARD BOAT VEHICLE
Another boat tears on quickly through
the ocean, a lot faster than Shang Tsung’s
This is not an old wooden boat, nor a
police boat of the water, but a military
Coast Guard vehicle.
INT. COAST GUARD VEHICLE - FRONT SEAT
FBI AGENT MALCOLM MOLLOY
You know how much time and work it
took to get this cooperation up and running?
FBI AGENT SANDRA WILSON
No, Molloy. Why don’t you tell me?
Okay. It starts with the FBI tracking down Kano.
The CIA is actually the one capable of locating
him. Recording his phone calls . . . the . . . the
bastard is smart enough not to own a cell phone,
and yet . . . his voice is tracked, by the CIA,
through Kira’s phone calls with him. Now, thanks
to their info, we learn that Kano, the criminal, is
going to this . . . island. This invitation to fight in
Mortal Kombat. Yeah. My ass. If Kano thinks he’s
getting away with all his crimes, and going to this
. . . island getaway, this . . . vacation . . . if he
thinks he’s just gonna live it up in a hammock,
sipping lemonade, on this island forever . . .
well, he’s getting a Hell of a wake-up call.
You know damn well he’s gonna bring up his
rights. Outside North American territory,
YOU can’t handcuff him.
Yeah? Well then. I guess he won’t mind being
illegally handcuffed, then.
Don’t be stupid.
I’m not letting go of Kano.
You’re being stupid. Be patient.
This made-up Mortal Kombat story is the only
solid lead we have. Sonya Blade is on her way
to this so-called tournament right now. She,
alone, will be gathering some intel first. We will
hear her every word; her every breath. Once she
gets confirmation of intel, of Shang Tsung’s
cooperation with Kano, we nab ’em. We arrive,
we show up, we outnumber Kano - and we make
our arrests. Kano, and everyone who was
cooperating with him.
So don’t you ruin Lieutenant Blade’s plan
by running out headfirst on your own.
Agent Molloy is silent.
I want the same thing you want. Kano,
behind bars. The Black Dragon gang
dismantled. But guess what? You have
to be patient. Wait until we’re at the island.
If we don’t strike fast enough, Kano starts
to run, and make a getaway.
We’ll get him. We will get Kano.
The Coast Guard vehicle takes off.
U.S. Special Forces men surround Shang Tsung.
I am pleased to see you all here.
Do you all wish to participate in
the Mortal Kombat tournament?
USSF AGENT 1
Wrong. We’re here to arrest you, Shang Tsung.
Presenting his metal handcuffs,
he takes Shang Tsung by the arms,
and begins to place him under arrest,
both hands behind his back.
Me? But what have I done?
USSF AGENT 2
Aiding and abetting the Black Dragon gang.
Namely Kano. Kano, the leader. Hmm?
That ring a bell??
Kano lives his life, and I live mine.
I see no reason for me to be in trouble.
USSF AGENT 1
Yeah? You don’t wanna be under arrest? Hmm?
Then tell me where he is. Tell me where Kano is!!
Shang Tsung brings his hands back to his sides,
not minding the handcuffs at all, which fall to the

(diving away) Take cover!!
Believe me, I do not wish to kill any of you.
But remember! You are here, because you
are looking for Kano. You could not find him
for YEARS. Thanks to me, you have been
led right to him.
USSF AGENT 2
Okay. I don’t know exactly how you
ran your light-show just now, but -
Many guns are being aimed at Shang Tsung.
Raising both hands, he causes the guns
to shake and rattle in the mens’ hands.
Finally, he tears the objects right out of
their hands, to land on the ground.
I am not persuaded by your threats.
I can look into your souls. I see that
you are from this . . . Special Forces
agency, this Coast Guard agency,
the FBI. But I can assure you that
I was alive long before these institutions
What is this sick son of a bitch saying??
You are here, because you want
Kano, the criminal. You are here,
because you are the lawmen.
Rest assured, thanks to me, you
WILL have him . . . AFTER my
tournament. Nothing may interrupt it.
USSF AGENT 1
So now what? Now you murder us?
No. Now I hold you in captivity.
You will not die. You will not be hurt.
But you will remain captive here
until the end of the tournament.
USSF AGENT 1
What . . . tournament?
Mortal Kombat. Sonya and Kano were
both personally invited to this tournament.
And I must not let you interrupt.
Shang Tsung’s Masked Guards
approach the men in the Special Forces,
Coast Guard, and FBI. The Masked Guards
work quickly to subdue them.
FBI AGENT 1
Gotta be fucking kidding me.
I am NOT going willingly!
FBI AGENT 2
You guys laugh now. You’ll all
be crying very soon, in court!
The Masked Guards, remaining silent,
shove the American men, all unarmed,
to walk on.
CUT TO a farther away angle. Over 7
Masked Guards are escorting away over 7
FBI AGENT 2
Tell me. Is there any way of us getting released?
Some game we all must play?
After Sonya and Kano are finished at the
tournament, then you may have one of them in
your custody. Whichever one of the two survives.
FBI AGENT 2
I’m not trusting you, Mr. Shang Two-song!
That’s Shang Tsung.
FBI AGENT 2
INT. SHANG TSUNG’S COURTYARD - EVENING
Shang Tsung sits in his throne,
one hand on each of its sides.
Dozens of spectators watch.
Liu Kang steps into the arena,
where he meets Ermac.
INT. WARRIOR SHRINE - LATE EVENING
In a shrine filled with statues
of the contestants, Johnny Cage
walks around, and finds Rain,
a fighter clad in all purple.
All right. Let's do this.
Johnny Cage and Rain circle
around each other.
Rain swings the first two quick punches.
INT. SHANG TSUNG'S COURTYARD
BACK TO Liu Kang fighting Ermac.
High punch, low punch, high punch,
high punch, high punch . . . Ermac
is a relentless fighter. Liu Kang keeps
stepping to the side, and finally manages
to grab Ermac and throw him backward
to the ground.
Liu Kang stands over Ermac,
readying himself more for combat.
INT. WARRIOR SHRINE
Johnny Cage fights Rain.
Johnny Cage beats Rain.
Like Liu Kang, he will not
kill the man.
Shang Tsung is displeased.
EXT. HONAN TEMPLE - DAY
Sonya gets to fight Kano.
The two fight brutally.
Sonya seems to be killed,
stabbed by Kano’s knife.
For a moment, everything
seems to be over for her.
Flashbacks to her life story.
Looking up at the bright Sun.
Younger Sonya, climbing up the
ladder of ropes in military boot camp.
Sonya, doing push-ups in the mud,
in the rain, getting screamed at by
her drill sergeant.
Smiling Sonya receiving a medal
around her neck.
BACK TO Sonya laying on the ground,
blood coming out of her.
She kicks Kano in his knees.
Overall, she kills Kano.
Shang Tsung steals Kano’s soul.
The men who were held in captivity
are now released. They may have
their criminal. The men in the FBI
find Kano, dead. They are now free to
leave, without Kano, and without Sonya.
Shang Tsung talks to Goro. He is furious
that Ermac, Rain, and Kano have all failed
him thus far.
INT. BRIDGE OVER THE PIT - NIGHT
On the bridge over the Pit, Sub-Zero and
Scorpion finally fight at the tournament.
Fire and ice clash and collide.
Scorpion wins the fight, killing
Sub-Zero, and burning his body
alive. Sub-Zero dies. Scorpion
knocks his body off the bridge.
Raiden is hurt by this sight, and
he tells Liu Kang that one of the
Earth fighters is now lost.
This is unfortunate. Sub-Zero
was a highly skilled fighter.
Next, Sing and Sang will fight Grum.
INT. BRIDGE OVER THE PIT - SOON
Twin monks, Sing and Sang, step
out onto the bridge over the Pit.
(Across the scene, at random times,
black shadowy silhouettes fly past
the moon: an alien spaceship; a witch
flying on a broomstick.)
Sing and Sang both begin to demonstrate
their martial arts poses.
Grum steps forth, from the other
end of the bridge.
Sing and Sang are afraid of Grum
long before he gets to them.
Grum has six arms, like a Hindu God.
Each one of these arms is stronger
than any human arm. Grum’s skin
has more of a layer of red coloring to
it over the dark orange skin.
I will fight without weapons. Begin!
Sing and Sang run across the bridge,
An overhead view of the bridge, on which
the contestants are fighting, and the endless
pit of spikes far below. We CIRCLE AROUND
Sing and Sang as they take on Grum.
Raiden is afraid.
I was afraid this might happen. If there is one more
loss, just one more, than there will be a stalemate.
Not acceptable. I must win my fight.
INT. BOTTOM OF THE PIT
Blind swordsman Kenshi holds his
Where are you, Reptile?
Kenshi looks all around himself.
Holding his sword outward, he is able to tell when
there’s a white spike in his path. He feels it with
his hand. Using his sword as a guide, he finds a
clear path, between the neatly-arranged rows and
columns of white spikes, to run down.
Kenshi keeps low to the ground as
he runs ahead.
Kenshi turns his head, having heard
the sound of Reptile’s voice sharply.
Reptile, clad in black and green rags,
scampers across the ground on all
fours, trying to hide. But Kenshi can
track down the source of his noises.
Kenshi runs at Reptile.
Kenshi looks up.
(spitting out acid) Hissss!!
Kenshi runs away quickly, barely
missing the acid which instead
hits the ground.
Reptile's invisibility does not give him the
advantage over Kenshi, who can hear Reptile
coming clearly and jab his sword into the air
at just the right second.
Raiden is glad that Kenshi won.
Still, now he himself must win
his own scheduled fight with Belokk.
Belokk is a red genie. He is owned by
a woman named Shadia.
Raiden fights Belokk.
The Thunder God battles the wicked djinn.
At last, Raiden wins the fight.
Belokk is knocked down to the ground.
The next day, the survivors are asked to
report to the Warrior Shrine. Here,
there are statues of all the contestants.
However, now, Earth has lost Sing and Sang,
as well as Sub-Zero. Outworld has lost
Belokk, Reptile, Kano, Ermac, and Rain.
Now, the survivors - Liu Kang, Johnny Cage,
Sonya, Raiden, Kenshi, Scorpion, Reptile,
and Grum - all participate in the Mirror Match.
Each person goes up against a copy of
themselves, a doppelganger.
All the humans have a physical double
Liu Kang fights a copy of himself,
whose skin is a little darker.
Johnny Cage fights Dark Johnny Cage.
Sonya fights a copy of herself who wears all red.
Raiden fights a copy of his avatar body.
Kenshi fights a copy of himself.
Scorpion fights himself, getting roped
by his own double.
Reptile fights his own double, and wins.
Grum fights his own double, and is killed.
Kano's doppelganger did not get to fight.
Neither did Sing, Sang, or Sub-Zero's.
Now, the Endurance Round.
All the statues in the Warrior Shrine are
filled with the souls from Shang Tsung’s
legion of slaves. Thus the statues of all
14 contestants walk the arena, fighting
the contestants. All they have to do is
survive 2 minutes, and it will be over.
But this isn't fair!
Shang Tsung is a treacherous host, and he
will stretch out the difficulty of the tournament
as much as he can. Just fight bravely!
After the 2 minutes, they are all intact.
The statues have gone back to stillness.
INT. GORO’S LAIR
Oni walk through the lair.
They take their place in the darkness.
Their eyes become a yellow glow
in an otherwise pitch dark lair.
In Goro’s Lair, four-armed Goro arrives.
He hasn’t been beaten in all these
tournaments - and in others before
the 10 held in Earth.
Liu Kang must use another approach,
besides the approach that hasn’t been
Manipulation of the elements. Fireballs.
Keeping a safe distance from Goro,
and striking him with fireballs to knock
him backward. It took a lifetime of training.
Running away to avoid his falling stomp maneuver.
Executing a flying kick to Goro to
knock into his chest.
Fireballs to take Goro down, finally
ending the Shokan’s winning streak.
The oni crawl out of hiding, walking
up to the fallen Goro. They howl
loudly, and run away.
Next, Liu Kang takes on the sorcerer.
Liu Kang and Shang Tsung throw
fireballs back and forth at each other,
yet neither strikes the other successfully.
Liu Kang finally beats the sorcerer,
ending the tournament and winning
it in the name of Earth.
Shang Tsung loses his power.
It seems everyone has won.
Sing and Sang are dead, and
so is Sub-Zero. But the rest of
the good guys, Liu, Johnny, Sonya,
Kenshi, and Raiden, are still around.
Raiden is glad. He always thought it
was a heavy task to host the Earth’s
end of the Mortal Kombat tournaments.
Now that it is over, he’s not sure what
he will do. Now he will simply go back
to protecting the Earth.
The soul of Cliff LaDolce, Sonya’s
killed fiancee, speaks to her.
Cliff’s soul flies away, and Sonya
walks away with Liu, Johnny, and
Kenshi, while Raiden breaks apart
and returns to the sky.
